If you are unwilling to invest in your own business, then why would any prospect/customer want to either?

By investing I mean not just by investing your time, but by investing your money back into your business. Can you expect your business to grow if you are unwilling to promote it? Can you expect to create Leads, which turn into business partners and customers, which generate YOU Income…

..if you don’t invest money into marketing your business services and products? That’s a resounding, NO.

By investing in your own business, meaning ‘You, Inc.’, you cannot really lose, but only when you do it effectively. Even if you do lose out you really gain, its different to investing in the stock exchange and your shares crash, because investing in yourself and in your business, either of these two things WILL happen!

  1. Your investment pays off, generating endless targeted leads, which gives you an increase in income, ultimately giving you EVERYTHING you want!
  2. Your investment does not pay off for whatever reason, BUT you learn a valuable lesson.

When we lose money it makes us stop to think and analyze the reasons why this has happened!

And you know that the next time you are confronted with similar problems, due to the experience you have gained from this occasion - you will generate leads for your business, and then increase your income – by fortunes, because you will never make that same mistake again.

Investing in yourself and your business should remain a PRIORITY throughout your career, even in these hard times of the economy in decline! As only the business owners who continue to invest in marketing and personal development are literally the only ones who will survive the recession!

Something I’ve noticed personally, is what is happening on the television as we speak!

The large companies like breakfast cereal & soft drink makers like Nestle and Coca Cola(examples..), are shall we say “hitting our screens hard!” as are Travel Companies!

When hardly anyone is thinking of taking cruises or vacations, due to lack of money – WHY are these ‘luxuries’ being ‘blasted’ in our faces on the TV?

This is the Reason…

Those companies know that only the strong will survive and to become strong contenders or even… SURVIVE the reccession! They know that YOU must invest in your business.

They know that by investing that bit more in advertising and marketing NOW, it will pay them dividends in the future!

Surviving the reccession is the main focus of many such companies right now, not increasing profits… But merely to keep what they have, AFLOAT!

Remember, if you don’t spend money to market your products and services, why should anyone spend money on purchasing them or joining YOU!

In times when people are looking for the best person to lead them to success (or out of the 9 to 5 world!) or the best deal on a specific product…

Don’t make it harder for that person to find YOU!

NOT before your customer or prospect has the Emotional Desire to buy, will You get them to buy from you! No matter how much you ‘try’ and sell your products or Services, it won’t be until the customer or business prospect) finds the emotional desire – That Any Sale will Take Place.

The key is to get your prospect or customer excited about your product or service.

Don’t try and put the cart before the horse by trying to sell ‘logic’ – it’s pointless! Create the excitement in their mind and they’ll come up with the logic to join you, without you!

We all know the reasons why people do buy, the opposite of these applies to the reasons why people don’t…

1. No Need

2. No desire

3. No Money

4. No Trust

5. No Hurry

The biggest is TRUST. No matter how good the sales person you are if the customer doesn’t trust you then they will never buy from you regardless of price or how enthusiastic you may be.

The higher the trust the customer has in you, the higher the sales you will make and more associates you will partner with. By working on building trust within the relationship, the other four reasons as to why people don’t buy can be eliminated in time by the customer using their own logic, which you ’suggested’ to them.

“Nothing happens in the world of business until somebody sells”, fact..! Be proud of what you sell and convey that pride & passion to your customers and everything else will fall in place and you making an incredible amount of SALES.

The day before yesterday, my central heating boiler stopped working, So I spent all evening researching boiler prices and installation costs to give me a rough idea how much this was going to cost me ready for the following morning, when I called a friends brother, who’s a plumber.

Boiler prices, together with installation – Estimates were around £2,000 for type of boiler I ‘was’ going to replace old with. OUCH!

I got hold of Ross. He is a central heating & boiler expert, unknowingly and extremely lucky for me!

He fixed the boiler (it was just a stuck fan!) and it cost me a whopping £20! Nice.

A saving of around £1,980!!

So, after he’d finished the repair I was catching up with Ross as I’ve not seen him for a few years. We were talking about, well just general life topics; He has a family now, 2 year old daughter and he’s getting married this year.

Then we started talking about the ‘hottest’ topic on everyone’s mind (at some level) right now and that is MONEY, and the hard times that are currently affecting many people.

I was TOTALLY shocked at what he told me! And I’m talking jaw dropping shocked. Really.

This time last year, his business was thriving. He was subcontracting business to other plumbers because he had so much work on!

Fast forward to TODAY! Now I know times are really tough for tons of people, but I wasn’t expecting to hear this…

“Andy, I am over £20,000 down on wages compared to last years tax year…!” (About $30,000)

I honestly  could not believe my ears.

TWENTY THOUSAND POUNDS in lost income! It made me feel sick.

He had spent 2 years training to be a plumber, 2 years working for someone else and then he went out on his own (thats probably the last time I saw him).

I remember really admiring him for taking the plunge.

Back when I first started up in business in 1998, with the Security Company, I recall it being an emotional time. It gave me a huge lift in self-esteem, condfidence and motivation starting my own business, but it was also a daunting time for me, but it paid off, (well almost)!!

Will I make it, won’t I? Will I be able to support my family?

This was well before everything I knew about the ‘Law of Attraction’ and how the universe works – Either for us OR against us! (If you’re not sure, but want to know… get back to me!)

I built a security business from the ground up.  3 years later I was turning over around £500,000 a year, making a comfortable six figure income!

But if you know my story, you’ll know that my time was NOT my own, I was working like a crazy person, and on call 24/7 which almost killed me!!

Today, the ‘on the side’ jobs that Ross previously did for ‘beer money’ are almost the only business he has to make enough income to pay his bills and feed his family.

It really sucked to hear that.

He has to work away from his family (sometimes for weeks at a time) when the work is available, just to make ends meet.

Now, I felt the near ’sting’ of the current financial climate at the beginning of the year too.

My Fiancee Rachelle, lost her job – 4 months before the baby is due(2 weeks today!!) and although it was a shock to the system at first, and put a little (unneccessary) stress on me(because I’m a real worrier, just who I am!) but in reality, it was no real problem!

I make more than enough in my online businesses to cover the loss and so if Rachelle does not want to return to work when the baby is older, she won’t have to! (I hope she doesn’t, but she is career minded so fair enough. I’d like her to be home with me, while the baby grows up, but it’s up to her of course!)

So, whats the ‘moral of the story’ here? Whats happening in the world that someone can do so well, build up a huge business, then lose so much?

Well Unfortunately, these are the times we now live in.

People are losing out everyday – jobs are not safe, small businesses are going under, people are living in fear!

So how then, am I able to remain Focused, Grow My Businesses and actually INCREASE MY INCOME?

I would answer that simply & clearly. It starts with EDUCATION.

I knew that in order for me to, not just ’survive’ online but to THRIVE & GROW my Online Presence, Business & Income I would have to educate myself, brand myself as a leader and ‘HUSTLE’!

It’s all about taking “MASSIVE ACTION” with the knowledge you learn, absorb & digest!

When you do this, it’s a God given FACT that YOU will achieve great things in your life and change the lives of the people around you!

When I joined a training program in March ‘07, I ‘hustled’ like you would not believe!

I got the training. I got the education. I LEARNED.

I took just massive, MASSIVE action so that in just 120 days I was blessed to achieve my goal of working full-time from home, online.

So now it’s about YOU!

Can anyone escape the current climate? Can anyone take control of their life, no matter what their situation? Of Course they can, BUT…

ONLY if you have the right mindset, get and EDUCATION and ‘HUSTLE’ like never before! Do this and YOU WILL have 100% pure SUCCESS! I promise you.

How to Create a Relationship of Trust

One of my last blogs was about ‘Relationship Marketing’ (check it out here.. )

On that blog I covered two characteristics of relationship marketing; why it’s imperatively IMPORTANT to your success in business and ‘why your upline and sponsor always tell you to build a list of everyone you know to start with..!’..

So, on this blog I want to cover something where, I think, many people go wrong with relationship marketing, and that is ‘How to Create a Relationship of Trust!’

Before any prospect turns into a customer or business partner, you must sell yourself to them first, build a relationship so that the prospect has the desire to remain loyal to you and not buy from other sources. Make sense?

By selling yourself, I don’t mean broadcasting to your prospect all about you, your business or your products! This is the mistake that most people make, when they first get started… I know I did!

But going back to my previous blog on this subject, your usually told by your sponsor and company to ‘sell, sell, sell or pitch, pitch, pitch…’ your opportunity & products, and what this does quite simply, is..

Force your prospect to, sometimes, put up a barrier that you’ll never be able to break down because as human beings, we DO NOT like to be almost ‘forcibly’ sold something, because this means spending money on something which we were never (probably) looking for in the first place!

Think about this yourself for a moment. Your in a shop say, just browsing and having a look around, and a salesman comes over and ‘trys’ his damndest to sell you that product! WHAT DO YOU IMMEDIATELY DO…?

Your barrier goes up and you get (sometimes) frustrated or even annoyed because you didn’t intend to buy anything in the first place..! And you got some salesman in your face doing his best to SELL, SELL, SELL it you! You just don’t want him there.

You need to sell yourself by focusing on your prospect, ask questions and learn more about your prospects (or customer) wants and needs. Take an interest in that person, don’t try sell to them!

And whatever you do don’t deliver promises or services that you can’t keep, being unreliable and over selling yourself and under delivering is a big no no, and a fast way not to create a TRUSTWORTHY RELATIONSHIP!

ONLY the people who have built the Strongest Relationships and those who have gained trust & respect with those prospects, will inevitably build large organisations and ultimately gain finacial freedom!

So I want to cover two aspects of Relationship Marketing with you:

1. Why is relationship marketing so Important in the age of the internet?

2. Why do Network Marketing companies tell their distributors to start hounding their family and friends as the very first way to start business building?

I want to start by enlightening you to the reason why most network marketing companies push their new distributors in the direction of the people they know first, when it comes to building a downline, rather than the newcomer learning the fundamentals of network marketing.

It’s simply pshycology of the human mind.

You have already built up some kind of relationship with the people you see on a daily basis or the people who you used to know from the city where you used to live.

They already know you and they already TRUST YOU.

Which is fundamentally HUGE in network marketing.

And when someone trusts you, their ‘brains‘ are already open to you and they are compelled to listen to just about ANYTHING you say.

There is no barrier to break down.

When someone we trust opens our eyes to a way of perhaps getting out of debt or achieving a better way of life – WE ARE COMPELLED TO LISTEN, be it right or wrong.

Our minds are ‘drawn in’ by numbers, figures and statisics of how good something (in this case, the network marketing business) is and how that is going to help us.

And there really is only two reasons why someone is going to join you in any business – And Trust is the primary REASON. The other is that you have a way of helping them build that business, but I will go into that on another post.

But most people, maybe even you, have experienced a bad ‘vibe’ or two, three or perhaps four even… Just like I did when I first got started, after making that dreaded call to a 3rd cousin or a friend you used to know over the other side of the country and ‘pitching’ them some ‘business idea’ or even one of them ‘internet scams!’ Sound familiar?

“All your job is Andy, is to get them to the opportunity call and we’ll do the rest!”

Ever heard that line or something like it from your upline..?

But what you need to realise is this. If you want to see real results in network marketing, you must sponsor people who are passionate & have the same burning desire to improve their lives as you deep within you!

If they don’t have it, you could seriously have your work cut out and these people can literally “suck the living daylights out of you” because they will want YOU to do all the work for them or worse, you show them what you know, you spend your valuable time with them and they don’t produce the results… And quit.

Because they just haven’t got ‘It”.

This is why Attraction Marketing is so vital in this great industry! Attract people to you and then you can filter them out if you feel they haven’t got “It” when you speak with them.

This way, you don’t lose friends and you STILL get invited to family barbeques & get-togethers!

The Internet and social media networking.

Effective Relationship marketing is key to your success and is the reason why the network marketing industry has side-stepped into social and media marketing platforms.

Its NOT to get away from warm-market idea!

It is to extend our WARM MARKET to the far reaches of the world, via techology and the internet! It is easier to build a successful online business if YOU have already built a relationship with people over weeks and months with video platforms like youtube and other social networking sites like Myspace, Facebook and Twitter.

Just imagine having the relationship built before you even speak to your prospect! Just imagine them saying to you, ‘I feel like I already know you because of YOUR VIDEOS…!’

Imagine having people join your business BEFORE you have even spoke to them because they already ‘feel’ like they trust you. It happens to me frequently my friend and it can happen for you to.

Once you master the skills neccessary for social media marketing, the potential frustration of asking the people around you to ‘just take a look’ at your business (where 99% will think you’re almost insane for prompting them anyway!) or spending yourself into financial suicide using misconceived marketing ideas from your upline NO LONGER EXSISTS..!

And you are free to build your network marketing business and design your life the way you forsaw it when you first got started.

The majority of peoples problems today can be attributed from the fact that the as human beings, we have a built in ‘Defence Mechanism’ which resists change, rather than embracing it!

Thats just the nature of who we are!

Unfortunately, most people will automatically resist change throughout their lives.

And in times of hardship which the world is experiencing TODAY, it is the people who retain this mindset who will seek secure work (and I’m not saying this is wrong by any means, alot can be said for having that security), rather than explore other possibilites of Personal Development and Designing their lives the way they really deserve!

Our biological system is designed in such a way, that no matter what happens, we remain in a state of consistency to the ever changing environment!

From our body temperature to our nervous system, how we think and feel…

Anything that happens around us – our body is designed to remain stable and in control of our system.

It is because of this built in mechanism, that we have a REAL and unfortunate tendency to resist change and to view it as a negative, rather than embrace it to do good for ourselves!

Fear of change is what can hold us back from many things, but F.EA.R. is only this..

F-alse
E-xpectations
A-ppearing
R-eal

Or even..

F-ailure
E-xpected
A-nd
R-eceived

…If YOU Let It.

However, this is the paradox.

At the same time as we have a natural resistance to change, we also thrive on it!

We are fascinated by innovation and new discoveries and we get excited about things that are innovative and different.

As much as we are reassured with what is familiar to us, the possibilites of what could be or is new – Intrigues us!

To survive is to rely on consistency, but to change is to grow. Growth and Survival – this is the natural paradox of our way of life!

In the past, there was Security in doing things the same way. In the current financial climate, the only security lies is in EMBRACING CHANGE!

Change your life now – Don’t get trapped by yourself!
